Raw Foods and Beauty
By Monica D. Siembor
When you eat a low-fat, raw vegan diet, you and those around you will notice
dramatic positive changes in your appearance. Many of these changes may
happen within a few days or weeks, and others may happen within months as
your body detoxifies even more. People will tell you that you look younger
and healthy. They will be very attracted to you and want to know your secret
for looking so great. Here are just some of the benefits you may experience
on a raw food diet:
Your skin will become clean, clear, and silky soft. You will have what
we call in the raw food movement, the raw-food glow. Because your blood
is cleaner and able to better transport fresh oxygen to your cells, your
skin will be radiant—it will “glow.” You’ll have
a very fresh, youthful appearance. Wrinkles will also diminish as you become
more mineralized and hydrated from raw foods. On a pure diet, you will no
longer experience the gray, greasy, waxy residue in your facial pores and
on the rest of your skin. This residue is from cooked food and soon diminishes
when you adopt a pure diet, leaving your skin clean and soft. You may even
find that you look better without makeup.
In addition to great looking skin, your eyes will also be more attractive.
The whites of your eyes will become clear and bright. The color of your
eyes may soften and show more gold, green, or blue tones. As you eliminate
sodium and caffeine from your diet, the puffiness and dark circles under
the eyes can also disappear.
As raw foods re-mineralize your body, even your hair will become shinier,
and your nails will become healthy and pink in color. Cuticle buildup, ridges,
and calcium spots on the nails may diminish as well.
What’s most amazing, however, is that your muscles and body line
will begin to show as you lose layers of unwanted fat and cellulite. As
your body cleanses on a diet of raw foods, fatty globules break apart and
are eliminated from the body. So celebrate the svelte new you, and go shopping
for some new clothes.
These are just a few of the benefits of eating raw foods. I’m sure
you’ll experience many others. Keep a journal to track your progress
and the changes you experience. Celebrate these changes to motivate you
to move forward in your raw journey.
